Looking Ahead: What’s Next for the Series

by | Aug 25, 2026

A Fog of Shadows launched two and a half months ago. Book 2 is in beta reading. Book 3 is written.

So what’s next for the Sirens in the Shadows series?

Here’s what I can tell you about the future.

The Big Picture: Nine Books

The Sirens in the Shadows series is planned as nine books total.

Six books for the six sisters. Each sister gets her own story, her own mate, her own complete romance.

Three additional books. Spin-offs that expand the universe beyond the core six.

All connected. Events from earlier books affect later ones. Characters appear across multiple stories. The world builds and deepens with each book.

This isn’t a trilogy that might get extended. Nine books was always the plan. I know where the series is going.

The Six Sisters

Each of the sisters will get her own book:

Book 1: KateriA Fog of Shadows (released) Book 2: HeatherA Line of Shadows (in beta reading) Book 3: Mesi – A Birthright of Shadows (written) Books 4-9: TBA

I’m not revealing which sisters get Books 4-6 yet. Part of the journey is discovering each sister as you meet her.

But I will say: every sister gets her story.

The Release Strategy

I’m not going to rush releases just to get books out quickly.

Each book will release when it’s ready:

  • Beta readers have given feedback
  • Professional editing is complete
  • Cover design is finalized
  • I’m confident it’s as strong as it can be

Quality over speed. I’d rather take the time to do it right than rush and regret it.

That said, I’m not making you wait years between books. Books 2 and 3 are already written. The process is editing and preparation, not starting from scratch.

What Makes Each Book Different

Every sister has her own unique story.

Different personalities: Kateri isn’t Heather isn’t Mesi isn’t the others. Each has her own voice, concerns, and way of seeing the world.

Different abilities: Each sister has unique magical powers. You’ll discover new abilities with each book.

Different relationship dynamics: Each sister’s romance with her mate is distinct. Different tropes, different chemistry, different challenges.

Different challenges: What Kateri faced isn’t what Heather faces in her story. Each book has its own conflicts and stakes.

But all connected: Events from earlier books ripple through later ones. The found family grows with each story.

The Ren Brothers

You met the brothers in Book 1. Six brothers, six sisters, fated mates.

Each brother gets developed across the series.

You’ll learn more about:

  • Magnus and his leadership
  • Mikkel and his complexities
  • Aros and his intensity
  • The other brothers as their books approach

They’re not just love interests. They’re fully developed characters with their own arcs, challenges, and growth.

Their relationships with each other matter. The brotherhood dynamic runs through the series just like the sisterhood does.

The Found Family Aspect

This is central to the entire series.

Previous couples don’t disappear. When Heather gets her book, Kateri and Magnus are still around. When Mesi gets her book, both previous couples appear.

The family grows. With each book, the found family expands.

This creates complexity. Later books have more characters to balance. But it also creates richness—watching this family grow and support each other through everything.

The Overarching Plot

While each book is a complete romance, there’s a larger story arc across the series.

I’m not going to spoil what that is.

But know that:

  • Events in Book 1 set things in motion
  • Consequences ripple through the series
  • Mysteries introduced early get resolved later
  • The stakes build across the nine books
  • Everything connects

You can read each book as a standalone romance. But reading them in order gives you the full experience of the larger story.

What I’m Learning

Writing a nine-book series is teaching me things I didn’t expect.

Series continuity is complex. Keeping track of what’s been revealed, what characters know, what readers have learned—it’s intricate.

Each book needs to stand alone while serving the series. That balance is tricky but essential.

Characters grow across books. Kateri in Book 3 isn’t the same person she was in Book 1. She’s grown. Showing that growth while focusing on the new main couple requires care.

World-building expands strategically. Each book reveals more about siren and Ren society, magic, history. But I can’t dump everything at once.

Planning ahead is essential. Knowing where the series goes helps me plant seeds early that pay off later.

What You Can Expect

From each book:

  • New sister hopefully discovering her mate
  • Unique magical abilities
  • Different relationship dynamics
  • Contribution to the larger series arc
  • Growth of the found family

From the series as a whole:

  • Nine complete stories in one connected universe
  • Exploration of siren and Ren society
  • Mysteries that span multiple books
  • Found family that grows across the series
  • World-building that deepens with each story

From me as the author:

  • Commitment to quality over speed
  • Honest updates on progress
  • No false promises about timelines
  • Each book released when it’s ready
  • All closed door

Why Nine Books?

People ask why I’m planning such a long series.

Because that’s how many stories this world needs.

Six sisters means six romances. That was always the plan.

Three spin-offs let me explore aspects of the world the sister books can’t fully develop. Characters who deserve their stories. Angles on the world that need telling.

Nine books lets me tell the complete story of this world, these characters, this mythology I created.

Could I condense it? Maybe. But why would I want to? Each book serves a purpose. Each story matters.

For Readers Waiting

I know waiting between books is hard.

Here’s what I can promise:

You’ll know when books are coming. I’ll announce timelines when I’m confident, not before.

The wait will be worth it. Each sister’s story is one I’m proud of.

The Excitement Ahead

Writing this series is the most ambitious creative project I’ve ever undertaken.

Nine books is a lot. It’s years of work. It’s complex plotting and careful continuity and constant world-building.

But I’m excited.

Excited to introduce you to each sister. Excited to show you how their powers work. Excited to develop each brother. Excited to watch the found family grow. Excited to reveal the mysteries woven through the series.

Kateri’s story was just the beginning.

Heather’s story is next. Then Mesi’s. Then three more sisters. Then three spin-offs that expand everything.

This journey is just starting. And I can’t wait to share it with you.

The series continues. And I’m grateful you’re here for the journey.
